The design and
construction of the Gregory Grappler lends itself very well to timber related
chores. All you need do is shove or "rake" unruly brush like the
copious amounts you find with Mulberry, Osage Orange, or any tree into a loose
pile. Then with the grappler tines pointing straight down, use the earth as a
backstop to cram the jaws as full as possible. Clamping the jaws shut tightly
further compresses your load somewhat for reducing required space in your
removal equipment.
The tines of the grappler open to 31.5 inches so large trunks
are easily disposed of in a snap. Trunks larger that that can still be dealt
with. The 3000 lb. output of your skid steer translates to over 37,000 lbs. of
mechanical pressure at the end of the jaws. Larger pieces can be clamped to be
moved restricted only by the counter balance provided by the GVW of your skid
steer. Moving smaller logs and branches is easy as 1,2,3, when you collect them
into a pile and then move them all at once as demonstrated in or Grappler
video available on our movie clips page.
